Morning Networking Session
Both mornings, hosted by Cameron & Joakim

BEING A UNIQUE TEACHER / KNOW YOURSELF
One of our core aims at The Pilates gathering is to celebrate you as a movement for health teacher and help you to develop how you want to. Pilates / Contrology is the framework, the principles and guide but you can fill and expand the framework with your intent. You as an individual with your uniqueness bring your ingredients, ambition and vision to every session. It is personal!
In this session we will be exploring what it means to be a Pilates Teacher. You and your fellow participants. No clones here………let’s recognise, celebrate, and think of ways forward for your Pilates journey.
It is interactive. You may have to share your favourite and least favourite moves. You may want to share your vision, certainly discuss with others. Allow and appreciate other perceptions and ways. Maybe even learn something, or at least get you wondering!

Session 1: The Power of Rotation
In this dynamic session, we will explore the power of rotation in Pilates, focusing on enhancing thoracic mobility and improving spinal alignment. Through a combination of classical Pilates exercises and Pilates-based movement variations, we will deepen our understanding of how rotation influences posture, breath, and movement efficiency. By integrating precise breathwork and mindful sequencing, this session aims to unlock restrictions, promote fluidity, and refine movement quality. Whether you’re looking to improve functional movement patterns or deepen your Pilates practice, this session will provide tools to enhance rotational control and freedom.

Session 2: In and Out of Neutral – Understanding and Challenging Spinal Alignment
The debate between neutral and imprint has long been a topic in Pilates, but rather than focusing on one as ‘better’ than the other, this session will explore the purpose and function of both. We will begin by refining the understanding of neutral spine—how to teach it effectively, how to assess when it’s appropriate, and how to help clients find and maintain it. From there, we will challenge stability by moving in and out of neutral, using Pilates exercises that highlight the transitions between these positions. The focus will be on creating functional movement, building body awareness, and helping clients understand why and when each position is beneficial. By the end of the session, you’ll have a deeper appreciation of how to teach neutral, how to explore movement beyond it, and how to ensure clients move with control, confidence, and purpose..
